Yet another successful event, raising over $300,000 in funds to support the Seeds of Peace Organization!  We love working with Seeds of Peace because, not only do they throw a fabulous party, they do it for an amazing cause. The Young Leadership Committee (YLC) is a dynamic group of socially conscious young adults who are emerging as leaders in their respective fields, have an interest in international conflict resolution, and are committed to supporting the mission of Seeds of Peace, which is a peacebuilding youth organization whose main program brings youth from areas of conflict to their international camp in Maine. They also provide regional programming to support Seeds of Peace graduates, aka “Seeds”, once they return home. Their mission is to empower youth from conflict regions to work for a better future.  The YLC primarily supports Seeds of Peace in two areas: 1) raising awareness and 2) event-based fundraising. Annually, YLC events bring together well over 2,000 young professionals, raise over a half million dollars, and provide excellent entry points for new supporters. Peace Market is an event unlike any other in New York City, drawing over 1,200 influential young professionals, an impressive line-up of celebrities, notable dignitaries, and a significant media presence.

This year, Peace Market guests enjoyed an amazing display of food served up by various vendors such as Pranna, Devi, Hummus Place, Moustache, Taim, Hummus Kitchen, Miriam, Fairway, along with some delicious treats provided by vendors like Nosh, Prohibition Bakery, Dylan’s Candy Bar, Kopali Chocolates, Grandaisy Bakery and we can’t forget those amazing S’mores from Food Merchants!  Red Jacket Orchards, Ty Ku and Liquid Lab were there to quench your thirst, along with an open bar serving up beverages provided by Manhattan Beer Co, Q Drinks, Boylan Bottle Co, Tierras, 1947 Premium Lager, Voss, and much much much more!  Food Network stars like Rocco DiSpirito (Now Eat This!), Jehangir Mehta (Mehtaphor, Graffiti, and featured on Iron Chef), Joe Campanale (L’Artusi, dell’anima, Anfora), Josh Beckerman (The Foodie Magician) and Erin Zimmer (Serious Eats) gathered to judge the Hummus Taste-Off, while City of Sun performs a few amazing songs for guests.  Celebrities like Nana Meriwether (Miss USA) and Olivia Culpo (Miss Universe) and Vincent Piazza (Lucky Luciano on Boardwalk Empire) hit the red carpet and mingle with guests while DJ’s Questlove of The Roots and Dave1 of Chromeo kept everyone dancing till last call!  A fun night was had by all!
